Once again I have let so much time go by that it is hard to remember the details that make things interesting. So here are the basics of what I've done that last week and hopefully I can fill in some details later. Wednesday, July 4, I went to the Dido concert in Toronto with Goyer. Thursday... back to Waterloo, ulitimate in evening. Friday... met with Robyn and Mary about Grebel yearbook account and general Student Council account. Sorted out yearbook stuff, agreed to meet in mid-August to talk about overall Student Council accounts/procedures. Went to 207 Erb house party. Saturday... went to Ben's for a little house party in evening. Sunday... hung out at Grebel, played basketball and ultimate. Monday... ummmmm should be easy since it was yestarday... continued reading The Tipping Point, did laundry :) , used my HMV gift certificate to buy a magazine Q. Tuesday... today, finally got around to fixing up some phormation code, almost done The Tipping Point.

A lot happened on the weekend... to much to write about in one go... so I'll just highlight some stuff.

Overview:

Friday: Went to Sarah's birthday party, Del Dante's for supper and then her house for cake and talking.

Saturday: Drove to Ottawa with Ariana, Travis and Pemma. Met group at and stayed at John-eric's place. Wandered around Ottawa.

Sunday (Canada Day): Went to John-eric's church. John Shmidt brought up the interesting fact of how much more nationalistic it was than Mennonite churchs. They even sang part of O Canada but just verse 4 less nationalistic than the others. Relaxed in afternoon. When downtown and waited for fireworks. Met up with a large group of Grebel people. It was really windy and the fireworks were cancelled :( . The street was a sea of people afterwards, as everyone wandered around looking wondering what to do. They had lots of police around and no rioting took as far as I could tell. Just a lot of people joking about stuff, one of which was that the Americans stole the fireworks so people should storm the embassy :) . But it didn't happen, probably because people were afraid of gettig shot down :) .

Monday: Said goodbye to most of people in morning, hung out with John-eric, Victoria, and Travis for afternoon. Drove home with Ariana, and Travis in evening.

I read the sample chapter of Taking Your Talent to the Web. I haven't bought many books lately but I'm considering getting this one. I'd also like to read The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, but Goyer has that so I can just borrow it. I got interested in that book when he came to talk at Waterloo in the fall term. He was a very interesting speaker and apparently the book is very good too.

As with most Thursdays, I played ultimate and hung around Grebel. I mananged to borrow some dress clothes for Sarah's dinner thing tommorrow night. Sometime I should get some real dress clothes of my own, but I haven't had to yet, and I've never just got the urge to go shopping for dressy stuff.

Oh yeah. I also committed to some long range plans today. My Grandma (who lives in Morden, MB) is going to be moving from her house to a condo... and it's going to be a big job. Let's just say that she has accumulated a bit of stuff and some of it will need to be disposed off. So it's a family job, and I'll be heading out there around July 21 to July 25 to help out. Maybe I'll get into the details more later.

I've been getting my Canada Day weekend plans figured out. I actually have some exciting things happening. On Friday evening I've got a dinner thing for Sarah's birthday which is actually on the 1st. Then on Saturday I'm driving to Ottawa with Ariana and Travis. In Ottawa I'll be meeting up with John-eric, who is there on work term, along with a bunch of other people that are going to visit. I'll be coming back to Waterloo on Monday. I also have stuff planed for Independence Day. I'll be going to Toronto to see a Dido concert (Travis opens) with Goyer. That's a lot of planned activities for me.

I had a good time at the Grebel Reunion this weekend. Yesterday we went to Elora Gorge where we played ultimate and went hiking. Some people went tubing, but I decided not to. It was a bit cold and I didn't feel in the mood. The ultimate and hiking were good enough for me. And it was good to have a lot of people back that were around last year. In the evening we had square dancing, which has somehow become a Grebel tradition and is always fun. Today I hung around Grebel and played vollyball. All the activity has made me tired, and I think I'll go to bed early tonight. Maybe even before 12.

Well, I went to bed early last night (9:00), and then got up early today. Very early... actually I've been up since 12:30. I couldn't get back to sleep, so I decided to work on some web stuff. I changed the colors for my blog and fooled around with Paint Shop Pro. I created a new intro screen but I don't know if I should use it or not. I'm worried that it will take a long time to load for people with slow connections. I should get more sleep. The Grebel reunion is this weekend, and I should be rested for that.
