[Previous entry: "Actually Work... sort of"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "Psychology Today rant"] 07/18/2001 Entry: "chat rooms and web portals" Here's some boring writing on my work (the work isn't boring it's just my writing). I spent a lot of today checking out web based chat room systems and web portal systems. There a lot of them out there!!! The problem is finding one that is does what you want. It's hard to tell which ones are good and which are crap. I started out looking at Sourceforge.net to see what there was in terms of opensource stuff. I was able to find several possiblities... nothing that looked like the perfect one, but I guess you can't really ask for that. I also looked at some commercial ones just to see what kind of stuff out there. From my bit of research I narrowed it down to two good possibilities. Then about half an hour ago I came across Hotscripts.com where they have a large collection of scripts/programs and reviews. Althougth there weren't many reviews, the ones there confirmed my choices.
